Our Mission

"We must view young people not as empty bottles to be filled,
but as candles to be lit."--Robert H. Shaffer

Teens4Hire.org's mission is to remain the "go to" online career and recruitment site for U.S. teenagers. This endeavor meets a growing need for today's youth and fills a void in targeted low cost national and local recruitment advertising.

When we launched Teens4Hire.org on Feb 15th, 2002, and after considerable research, no other companies were helping teens on a national basis. We were the first online national service dedicated to U.S. teens actively seeking work.

Job hunting for teens is haphazard at best. More than 80% of teens starting at the age of 14 want to work. Many feel their income is a necessity rather than a luxury. Others realize that work-based learning early in life will help prepare them for the future.

If you are the parent of a teen:
Does your teen know how to find a safe and learning enriched work opportunity?

We catch young people at the moment “they” feel they are ready to work. It is at this time that young people make critical choices that affect their transition into adulthood and shape their perceptions about the world of work. Work experience at this stage in life is critical, and people who spend a large share of their young adult years unemployed have a hard time finding and keeping a job later in life.
