Three years related experience.
BIOMEDICAL TECHNICIAN
Performs preventive maintenance and repair on various medical instruments
with little supervision or technical guidance.
Educational and other requirements: Associate's Degree in Biomedical
Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology plus at least two
years experience as Biomedical Equipment Technician or equivalent.
Certification preferred.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN
Respond to basic life support calls, determine the nature and extent
of the illness, initiate treatment, modalities, and transport patient
to receiving hospital, in accordance with established procedures.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. Current EMT certification; Class E Driver's
License and safe driving record; one year experience preferred
FILE CLERK
Perform routine filing and clerical duties for assigned area, in
accordance with established procedures.
Educational and other requirements: High school diploma or GED
equivalent required.
FOOD SERVICE AIDE
Will serve meals to patients and ensure cleanliness and safety.
Educational and other requirements: Ability to read, speak, write and follow simple oral and written instructions in English. Prior food service experience helpful.
LABORATORY ASSISTANT
Receives specimens, registers patient demographics and orders laboratory
tests for Central Laboratory. Performs routine clerical duties as
needed.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. Some college or technical courses preferred.
Prior data entry experience with 65 key stokes per minute required.
Laboratory processing experience preferred. Venipuncture experience
a plus. Good communications skills.
MEDICAID COUNSELOR
Obtain financial and other related forms from patients to ensure
timely submission of Medicaid applications in accordance with established
procedures.
Educational and other requirements: High school graduate or equivalent
required. Knowledge of Third Party reimbursements required. Good
communication skills required with prior public contact and two
years related experience required. Some data entry experience preferred.
MEDICAL RECORDS CLERK
Perform multiple clerical duties for assigned unit in Medical Records
under direct supervision. Responsible for all aspects of medical
records; pulling charts, filing, copying, mailing, dictation, auditing,
and securing releases.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. One to two years job related experience. Familiarity
with data entry and retrieval skills. Knowledge of medical terminology
preferred. Some familiarity with a computerized environment preferred.
Ability to distinguish colors to identify medical record numbers.
MEDICAL TRANSCRIBER
Transcribe Surgical Pathology and Cytology medical reports in accordance
with established procedures.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. One to two years experience required. Ability
to use Dictaphone with knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge
of word processing systems preferred.
MED-SURGICAL TECH
Assist in the planning, implementing and evaluating patient care
under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, in accordance with
established policies and procedures.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. Nurse's Aide certification required. Experience
as a medical/surgical technician or related background required.
MEMBER SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE
Individual is responsible for providing members with patient education
materials and responding to telephone inquiries regarding member
complaints, requests for information or clarification on policy
issues. Serves as the main contract for members on customer services
issues for members, their families, providers and prospective clients.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required.
MENTAL HEALTH WORKER
Works directly with the patient to provide direction and guidance
in accordance with their individual treatment plan. Assures that
the patient's need are coordinated, among agency departments, outside
agencies and funding source.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or equivalent
and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Some college
preferred. PC skills essential. Exp. with psychiatric patients helpful.
NURSES AIDE
Carries out routine tasks to assist patients which may include:
Measures and records temperatures, pulses, respiration, blood pressure,
heights, weights, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs
routine hygiene, assists with patient examinations and aids in maintaining
a safe, neat, and clean patient environment.
Educational and other requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to demonstrate mathematical competency. Physically able to undertake tasks as outlined.
NUTRITION ASSISTANT
Performs routine foodservice, clerical and cleaning duties including
menu processing, diet changes, meal rethermalization and protocols
related to patient meal service in order to ensure quality meal
service in accordance with established procedures. Participate in
the development and measurement of outcomes for Food and Nutrition
Services including recording HACCP data. Performs duties in an ethical
and compassionate manner, applying knowledge of age/disease specific
patient needs as is warranted.
Educational and other requirements: High School graduate or equivalent.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic. Computer skills. Ability to
understand and use equipment and cleaning compounds.
PATIENT ESCORT
Escorts patients to areas throughout the Hospital. Responds to patient
needs and inquiries.
Educational and other requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
PATIENT REPRESENTATIVE
Under the supervision of the appropriate supervisor, performs a
variety of support clerical duties including reception and registration
of patients, handling of telephone inquiries, computer data entry,
scheduling and processing of patient visits, conducting of financial
interviews and payment collection. Incumbents in this generic title
may perform similar, but not identical, duties.
Educational and other requirements: High School Diploma or Equivalency
Certificate. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and have the
ability to work under minimal supervision. One year Hospital related
experience (ambulatory care setting preferred). Bilingual (English/Spanish)
preferred. Typing ability of 25 WPM. Basic knowledge of computer
operation and applications.
PERIOPERATIVE PATIENT ASSISTANT
Provides and maintains a safe, neat, and clean patient environment.
Ensures the maintenance of supplies, equipment, and patient care
in accordance with established procedure. Participates in patient
care activities as a member of the nursing team.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. Experience as a Nurse's Aide or equivalent.

PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN
Draws blood for laboratory tests as requested by physician in accordance

PROVIDER SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE
Assists the Provider Relations Representatives in responding to
provider questions, following up in contracting, providing office
education, etc. Services as a main in-house contact point for Network
managed care programs with a broad range of providers, including
physicians, hospitals, and ancillary and allied health professionals.

PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIAN

REGISTRAR
Greet and register patients for transportation and reimbursement
and perform various clerical duties in accordance with established
procedures.

SECRETARY
Under the supervision of a Manager, performs confidential secretarial
duties which include providing information to callers, using PC
software systems for data entry, updating, retrieving information,
word processing and relieving officials of clerical work.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. Secretarial School Certificate or one year
secretarial experience. Knowledge of word processing. Typing ability
of 40 wpm. May require knowledge of medical terminology.
SECURITY GUARD
Will tour hospital buildings and grounds via patrol car and on foot
to insure protection and to safeguard all hospital patients, visitors,
personnel, and property.
Educational and other requirements: HS graduate or equivalent.
Security Guard license and valid drivers license and BLS certification
required. 1-2 years experience in the security field preferred.
Excellent communication skills essential. Physical ability to render
security assistance throughout the hospital campus; ability to withstand
a considerable amount of walking and climbing of stairs, and standing
for long periods of time.
SOCIAL WORK ASSISTANT
Will assist hospital social work and clinical staff in locating
resources necessary for the referral of patients and families to
community services and financial benefit programs. Will interview
patients/families to obtain necessary information and complete applications
for community programs and financial benefits; provide referral
information and maintain liaison with aftercare providers. Will
escort patients to provider interviews. Explore the availability
of a variety of openings/beds for the different types of programs.
Assist clinical staff with high risk discharge planning cases; assess
community resources for appropriateness for psychiatric population;
and, expand and update the Community Resource database.
Educational and other requirements: High school diploma or equivalent;
college degree (BSW) preferred.
ULTRASOUND TECHNOLOGIST
Operate specialized imaging equipment (i.e., ultrasonic) to assist
in the safe and efficient diagnosis and assessment of patient conditions
in accordance with established procedures.
Educational and other requirements: High school diploma or GED
equivalent. Graduate of a one year approved ultrasound program required.
RDMS certification or eligibility preferred.
UNIT CLERK
The Unit Clerk performs general clerical duties and coordinates
the activity at the nurse's station to assure the timely and accurate
flow of patient information, reports and communications.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. Clerical and computer keyboard experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and courteously with
staff, patients and visitors.
X-RAY TECHNOLOGIST
Prepares patients for radiologic examinations in a professional
and courteous manner. Operates stationary and mobile x-ray equipment
and processes films according to established procedure.
Educational and other requirements: High School diploma or GED
equivalent required. Registered ARRT. Good communication skills.
Graduate of approved School of Radiology required (two years). License
required.
